Microsoft launches Lumia 535 smartphone

LUMIA 535Microsoft Mobile Company has launched its new Lumia 535 smartphone in Accra to add to its stock, in serving the world of technology.

The device comes with all the Microsoft services and new applications with wide angle camera for best pictures.

Mr Kolawole Osinowo, Head of Customer Care and Logistics, Nokia West and Central Africa, said at the launch that the device also featured a HD display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, an upgraded version of the 854×480 resolution display on the Lumia 530.

The Lumia 535 is a dual SIM phone, with a 5-inch display and glossy plastic case, and carries the Microsoft logo.

The physical dimensions of the Microsoft Lumia 535 are 140.2 x 72.4 x 8.8mm and weighs 146 grams.

Mr Osinowo said the smartphone had an eight Gigabyte internal storage capacity, which users could increase with the card slot.

He said the phone run the latest Windows Phone 8.1 operating system, which included changes in the features and interface, and operated on a 1,900 mAh battery, which had a battery life of 11 hours of calls on a 2G network or 23 days on standby.

“In terms of the connectivity, the Lumia 535 will support simultaneous 3G on both SIM cards, though there’s no 4G,” he explained.

He said the new phone offers the same Microsoft services such as Skype video calls, Office applications and the virtual assistant Cortana.

Three customers won a Lumia 535 smartphone each after participating in the Final draw of the “Nokia Make It Happen” promotion.
