Wasa West rejects houses without toilets

Houses2The Wassa East District Assembly would no longer issue permits for the construction of houses which designs do not include toilet facilities, Mr. Anthony Aggrey, the District Chief Executive, has said.

He said the district assembly would also demolish new houses that did not receive permits for their construction, especially those without toilets.

Mr. Aggrey said this when he cut the sod for work to begin on a 16-seater water closet place of convenience at Daboase.

He advised landlords of existing houses that did not have toilet facilities to urgently build some to ensure clean and healthy environments.

Mr. Aggrey said the place of convenience was being strategically sited near the market and lorry park to serve the public and would not cause any inconvenience to others.

Mr. Isaac Agyekum, assemblyman for Daboase East, said the project would be closely monitored to ensure that the contractor used the right materials.

Mr. Eric Nyarko, Supervisor of Western Vickbeak Enterprise, the contractor, said the project would be completed in about four months.
