Mr Alan Kyeremanten, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirant for Election 2016, on Wednesday donated food items to the Osu Children’s Home.
The items are 10 bags of sugar, 125 litres of cooking oil and 50 bags of rice.
He said it was important for society to remember the less privileged and the vulnerable during the Christmas and New Year celebrations since social protection was key to social and human development.
Mr Kyeremanten said as much as it was the responsibility of the government to play a leading role in providing the needs of the vulnerable, it was also the individual’s responsibility to support the poor.
He therefore called on all to ensure a level of playing field for children to realise their God given talents and potentials as the future leaders of the country.
Mrs Sharon Abbey, Manageress of the Osu Children Home thanked Mr Kyeremanten for the donation and said it was incumbent on all to make a better future for the vulnerable.
