Mr Yofi Grant, Director of Databank Group has advised students at Ghana Technology University College (GTUC) to eschew mediocrity and resist the old ways of doing things, which are at variance with growth and development.

Speaking at the 6th Congregation of GTUC in Accra, he noted that university education prepare graduates to set benchmarks based on the positive impacts they make on the lives of people, hence the need not to succumb to mediocrity and pettiness.

The 350 students who graduated at the weekend, received diploma and degree certificates in Information Technology Business, Engineering and Informatics.

The ceremony marked the end of four- year undergraduate studies for the 2009 cohort.

Mr Yofi said the nation is soaked in many challenges requiring graduates of today to immerse themselves in critical thinking and develop self-confidence to tackle them.

“This, we do through the introduction and running of Undergraduate, Masters and PhD programmes that are unique, contemporary and structured to meet the needs of industry,” he said.

The President said the college is also committed to seek opportunities to improve the standards of teaching and learning through developing sustainable linkages with sister universities internationally.

”This is a partnership that will deliver three-year Undergraduate and Masters programmes in the fields of Business Administration, Education, IT, Management, Sports Law and Tourism,” he said.
