CDS lauds KAIPTC for being a global centre of excellence

KAIPTCVice Admiral Matthew Quarshie, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), on Friday lauded the Kofi Annan International Peace-keeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) for being a global centre of excellence in peace building.

He said: “Having attained the level of excellence, let us remember to re-direct our course in the coming year to achieve greater results”.

Vice Admiral Quarshie who made the commendation in Accra during the get-together (WASSA) of KAIPTC staff, noted that the centre’s contribution to global peace building had not gone unnoticed.

He extolled the founding fathers of the centre for their vision and foresight in setting up the centre, adding that “we owe a debt of gratitude to the Almighty God for having brought us this far”.

The CDS also praised both past and present Commandants and staff of the centre for their contributions to its growth, which had made it an international centre of excellence, declaring that “I am proud of the centre”.

Vice Admiral Quarshie also urged the staff of the Centre to work harder in the coming year to take the centre to another level of excellence.

He applauded the Ccentre’s 10th Anniversary Planning Committee for a good work done.

The function which was hosted by Brigadier-General Obed Boamah Akwa, KAIPTC Commandant, was attended by past KAIPTC’s Commandants, and other serving and past senior military officers.

KAIPTC’s staff who distinguished themselves in the course of the year were honoured.

Among them were Juana Osei-Tutu, Faculty of Academic Affairs and Research, Joseph Adu Abruso, Administration Department, Rahmatu Brumah, Training Department, and Ruby Etornam and Yayra Ahiadu-Kpedzi both of the Department of Planning and Programming.
