Education Ministry inaugurates client secretariat

Prof. Jane OpokuThe Ministry of Education on Monday inaugurated a client secretariat that will help them relate closely with their stakeholders in the education sector as well as the public.

The client secretariat which would work between eight to nine hours weekly with uninterrupted services also seeks to complement and receive complaints from agencies of the ministry all over the country.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Mr Alex Kyeremeh, Deputy Minister in-charge of Pre-Tertiary Education said the secretariat would not be an agency that would take over works of other agencies, but rather to work closely with them.

“This centre is going to ensure that the ministry is all the time aware of issues individuals are facing,” he said.

He said the establishment of the client secretariat became necessary when the ministry received many complaints from the public during the admission of senior high school students in the country.

Mr Kyeremeh noted that stakeholders should not only complain or register their protest to the secretariat but rather, it should be seen as a medium where suggestions would be given to help improve upon their services.

“This client secretariat which is part of the Public Relations unit of the ministry will also help the ministry to provide infrastructures for schools, and also be a platform that will team up to instil discipline among students in the country,” he added.

He disclosed that the public could contact the client secretariat through email:[email protected] and via telephone on 0303931897 or 0303931898.
