President directs contractor to speed up Bogoso road project

John MahamaPresident John Dramani Mahama has paid a  visit to the Prestea Huni Valley District in the Western Region, where he inspected the progress of work on the Tarkwa Bogoso Ayenfuri road which is under construction.

Addressing a durbar of the chiefs and people at Bogoso, President Mahama said he has instructed the contractor working on the road- Reynolds Construction Company Limited to speed up work.

He noted that the Tarkwa Bogoso road has been featured in so many budgets, but this time around, government would ensure that it is completed on time.

President Mahama said other road networks in the district like the 12 kilometre Bogoso to Prestea stretch as well as the eight kilometre- road from Bogoso junction to Aboso would also be reconstructed.

Touching on the Ghana Gas Project, President Mahama noted that, a sub- station would be sited at Prestea to create job opportunities for the people.

The Chief of Bogoso Kokoase, Nana Kwesi Sompreh who spoke on behalf of the Wassa Fiase Paramount Chief Osagyefo Dr Kwamena Enimel VI called on the President to execute more projects into the district.

He said the traditional authorities have allocated a land for the construction of a training collage and polyclinic and there called for the assistance of the government to make the projects a possibility.

Nana Sompreh urged the President to make sure that chiefs are paid their royalties immediately because they have not received the money for the past three years.
