Sanitary facilities very crucial to communities – DCE

Mr Emmanuel R. A. Osae, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Kwaebibirem, has said the government was committed to providing sanitary facilities to communities “since environmental health and sanitation issues are very critical for development.”
He made the remark when inaugurating a 12-seater water closet public place of convenience at Pramkese.
Mr Osae noted that diseases like cholera were contracted as a result of lack of good toilet facilities and therefore gave the assurance that the assembly and the communities would collaborate to put up more sanitation facilities.
He expressed worry about behaviour of some community members who failed to patronize the facilities provided with the excuse that they were not consulted with regards to their locations.
Mr Osae urged landlords to build places of convenience in their homes.
Mr Osae also inaugurated an Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) Centre in the town.
Barima Ofori Frimpong II, Chief of Pramkese, thanked the district assembly for the facility.
