Akatsi-North District set for street naming project

Akatsi-North District has established a Secretariat and a Committee to facilitate the take-off of the Street Naming and Property Addressing Project in the area.

Head of the Assembly’s Physical Planning Department, heads the committee, in which the local community is also represented.

Mr. James Gunu, District Chief Executive (DCE), inaugurating the secretariat and the 13-member committee at Ave-Dakpa, said government attached a lot of importance to the project, and urged those in charge to work hard within the 10-month project timeline.

He said as a new district, the exercise would help it in its physical planning development and provide data to boost revenue generation.

Mr. Gunu said the project would provide a lot of information for the Town and Country Planning Department and also assist investors to locate potential areas for investment.

He took the committee through areas of their assignment including project costing, public sensitization on the implementation, supervision, monitoring and updating of maps.
