Ghanaians must work hard towards 2014 Budget targets – MCE

market1Ghanaians have been called upon to whole-heartedly accept the 2014 budget and work hard toward for the full realization of its targets.

Nii Ephraim, Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, who gave the advice further urged the citizenry, particularly workers, to put aside all partisan sentiments to enable them to make meaningful contributions towards the attainment of the targets set for their respective ministries.

He was interacting with newsmen on the 2014 budget statement at Winneba on Wednesday.

Nii Ephraim described as highly encouraging and inspiring Government’s decision to maintain the single spine salary regime and charged leaders of the various organised labour groups to impress upon their members to reciprocate the gesture in the interest of higher productivity and economic advancement.

He said what the nation, and for that matter the Government, urgently required from all state employees was high sense of discipline, commitment, dedication and above all hard work to make the country one of the best in the world.

The MCE also commended President John Dramani Mahama for the 2014 budget, especially in the area where a contingent fund is to be established to promote rural health activities.

According to the budget statement, the scheme would be fed with 10 per cent deduction from the salaries of the executive, ministers and other government appointees to sustain its operations.

Nii Ephraim was optimistic that Ghanaians would accept the budget proposals devoid of all partisan differences and do their best to ensure its total achievement.
