Pharmaceutical Society calls on BNI to release of pharmacist

drugsThe Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) on Monday called on the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) for the immediate release of Mr Agyeman Badu, a pharmacist in charge of the Goaso Municipal Hospital.

A statement signed by Mr James Ohemeng Kyei, President of the PSGH, called on the BNI to release Mr Badu or press the necessary charges against him and also put him before a competent court.

The statement said Mr Badu received a personal informal invitation to appear at the BNI   headquarters at 9: 00 am on Friday 8 November, 2013 and since then all effort by the Society to reach him had proved futile.

The PSGH also called on the National Security Council, the Ministry of Health, the Ghana Health Service and the Ministry of Interior to intervene to ensure his immediate release.

The statement urged all pharmacists in both public and private sectors to remain calm and continue serving patients across the nation.
