Cuban Embassy says not offering special scholarship programme

GraduationThe Embassy of Cuba on Wednesday warned the public against rumours that the Government of Cuba is issuing special scholarships through the Embassy in Ghana and said this might be the work of fraudsters.

An official statement issued in Accra and copied to the Ghana News Agency urged the public to ignore the electronic mail circulating concerning the delivery of a special scholarship programme by the government of the Republic of Cuba via the Embassy.

“The rumours spreading otherwise are just attempts of unscrupulous people to deceive Ghanaians, and try to take some money from them,” it said.

The statement reaffirmed that the scholarship programme offered by the Cuban Government to the Republic of Ghana would continue to be negotiated through diplomatic channels with the appropriate Ghanaians authorities.

It gave the assurance that the next scholarship programme would be announced through the appropriate channels.
