India announces President Mahama’s official visit

Ghana’s President John Mahama is to begin an official state visit to India this month.

The External Affairs Ministry of India yesterday November 4, 2013 announced that President Mahama will pay an official visit to India from November 10 to 13, 2013.

This will be President Mahama’s first official visit to India since becoming President of Ghana on January 7, 2013.

In a statement, the External Affairs Ministry of India said the visit is at the invitation of the President of India, Pranab Kumar Mukherjee.

President Mahama is expected to be accompanied by a high-level delegation including Ghana’s Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Finance and Economic Planning, Trade and Industry, and Information and Media Relations.

During the visit, President Mahama will be received by India’s President, who will also host a dinner in his honour, officials indicated.

He will hold discussions on bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interest with the Prime Minister of India.

President Mahama will also address a business meeting.
