Parliament reconvenes for the third meeting
Members of Parliament on Tuesday reconvened for the third meeting of the first session of the sixth Parliament of the fourth Republic of Ghana.
Mr Edward Doe Adjaho, Speaker, who presided, told members it was unfortunate that the Chamber which was to be re-configured with expanded seating capacity, was in the same condition.
He explained that because the extensive work entailed satisfying all legal and procedural procurement requirements with such projects, there has been some delay, “but certainly these matters would be resolved.”
Mr Adjaho told members that the business for this meeting would be a hectic one because it would include the consideration of the President’s Economic Policy Statement and Financial proposals for the year ending December 31 2014.
He urged all to put in their maximum efforts to discharge business of the House effectively and efficiently, as well as co-operate with the leadership, to complete government business expeditiously.
An annual report of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice for the year 2011 was presented.
