CLOGSAG calls off strike

The Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) on Wednesday called off its strike action and asked members to go  back to work.

The strike action was called off following the intervention of  the National Tripartite Committee, resulting in the signing of a  memorandum of understanding, that would pave way for amicable settlement of the  impasse on payment of Top Up/premium to  members of CLOGSAG.

A statement signed by Mr Isaac Bampo Addo, Executive Secretary of CLOGSAG and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) said, the decision was taken at an Emergency National Council meeting held at the National Secretariat of CLOGSAG on Tuesday.

“We take this opportunity to acknowledge the immense support of the industrial action by the entire CLOGSAG fraternity. We sincerely appreciate your tenacity of purpose, endurance of threats with which you embraced and participated in this all important endeavour” the statement said
