NALAG to hold national delegates conference in Sunyani

The National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG), would hold its 18th National Delegates Conference from Wednesday October 23 to Friday October 25, in Sunyani.

The conference, which is the highest decision, making body of the Association is on the theme: “Energising Local Economies-Partnerships for Accelerated Development at the Local Level.”

It would attract seasoned resource persons to make presentations on the theme as well as representatives from Germany, Zimbabwe, Sierra Leone and The Gambia Local Government Associations”.

An invitation letter signed by Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Sherif, NALAG’s General Secretary and copied to Ghana News Agency in Sunyani said there would be panel discussion, which would provide a platform for three metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies (MMDAs) to share their experiences with the conference.

It said there would be presentation of the National Executive Council report followed by an election of national president, first and second vice presidents, treasurer, two trustees and women caucus chairperson.

The letter said the conference would have five delegates each from the MMDAs.

A total of 1,080 delegates as well as officers of NALAG and observers are expected to attend.

    I am the Executive Secretary of the local councils association of Sierra Leone. We really would want to take part. Please extend the official invitation to us so that we can get prepared to come. Has the time been rescheduled?
