ECG says will deliver on projects

ECGThe Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) said on Tuesday that it was committed to delivering on its projects in order to meet customer expectation despite the inadequate tariff increase.

A statement signed by Mr. Dan Adjei-Larbi, the Public Relations Manager and copied to the Ghana News Agency, said although the Public Utilities Regulatory Committee (PURC) had announced a 78.9% increase in electricity tariff, ECG will receive only 50.9% increase on the distribution service charge.

The statement said the company requested for a 214% increment in the Distribution service charge (DSC) based on agreed proposal guidelines for tariff adjustments, taking into consideration factors such as projects to meet quality service delivery.

The statement said the recent PURC approved tariffs was far below ECG’s expectations.

The statement advised customers to take energy conservation very seriously in order to reduce their electricity consumption as well as their expenditure on electricity usage.
