Firefighters save GCB from burning

gcbThe swift response of the Ghana Fire Service (GNFS) saved the structure housing the Nkawie branch of the Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) in the Atwima-Nwabiagya District from the ravages of fire.

Smoke was detected coming from the roof of the building at about 1054 hours and firefighters were called in.

They managed to suppress and prevent the fire from spreading to wreak havoc.

The incident disrupted banking business to the disappointment of many customers.

The District Fire Officer, Jacob Odame, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that an electrical fault caused the fire.
