Ga West MCE outlines development plans

Mr Samuel Attuquaye Quaye newly confirmed Ga West Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) has enumerated his programmes to ensure peace and promote rapid development of the municipality.

He said improving the lives of the people are key to achieve government’s better Ghana agenda.

In an interview with Ghana News Agency after his confirmation Mr Quaye said due to the prudent measures put in place by the government, he would be able to continue the development projects being executed by his predecessor in the area of education, health and  youth employment to make life worth living for the people.

Mr Quaye said his core mandate is to shape the lives of the people through regular seminars, exchange of idea with stakeholders such as queen mothers, chiefs and assembly members to implement government policies and programmes.

Touching on education he outlined the need to reward teachers who excel in the municipality.

“It is a good thing to appreciate the good works of the teacher and so we need to show appreciation to them to promote education”.

The MCE said he would use 22 acres acquired land at Kotoku in the district to put up a modern abattoir as well as a central lorry station to enhance the rapid development of the area.

He said there is no way the development of the municipality would be complete if indiscipline towards time is not addressed and urged the assembly staff to be duty conscious.

Mr Quaye said he would institute the best worker award to encourage hard work.
