Daffiama-Bussie-Issa Assembly confirms DCE

Members of the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa District Assembly on Tuesday confirmed Mr. Fidelis Zumakpeh, as the first District Chief Executive (DCE) for the District.

Mr. Zumakpeh, 53, polled 17 votes out of the 21 votes cast by the Assembly members representing 81 percent.

This makes him the first DCE for the District since it was carved out of the then Nadowli District in 2012.

Mr. Zumakpeh until his nomination and subsequent confirmation was the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) Coordinator for the District.

In a short remark, Mr. Zumakpeh thanked the Assembly members for affirming the confidence reposed on him by President John Dramani Mahama.

He pledged to operate an open door administration that would bring everybody on board for the development of the District.

Dr. Ephraim Avea Nsoh, Upper West Regional Minister appealed to the Assembly members to support him with ideas that would enable him to succeed for the benefit of the poor masses.

Dr. Nsoh also appealed to the new DCE not to preside over lukewarm attitudes, inactivity and absenteeism but rather ensure that key departments such as the District Works, District Planning, Budget and Finance Departments work well for the success of the Assembly.
