World Cup play-off: Ghana changes date for Egypt tie

GFAGhana have pushed back the initial World Cup qualifier date with Egpyt by two days.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) say the Black Stars will host Egypt in the first leg of the 2014 World Cup play-off on Tuesday 15 October in Kumasi.

The game, originally fixed for 13 October, according to the GFA has been pushed back to give coach Kwesi Appiah the maximum time to prepare.

World football governing body, Fifa set a deadline for the first legs to be played between 11 and 15 October, with the returns slated between 15 and 19 November.

Winners of the two-legged ties will book a place as one of Africa’s five representatives for next year’s finals in Brazil.

Ghana could make a third successive appearance at the quadrennial gathering that piece together 32 teams across the globe.
