Jirapa Assembly endorses President’s nominee

Members of the Jirapa District Assembly on Friday voted to confirm Madam Vivien-Nelly Kunko Banongkore as District Chief Executive (DCE).

Madam Kunko who is an elected assembly member and a teacher by profession polled 42 votes out of the 48 votes cast, representing 88 per cent.

She called for the cooperation of members to facilitate development.

Mr Abu Kabiebata Kansangbata, Deputy Regional Minister commended the assembly members for the endorsement of the President’s nominee, saying it is a positive sign of greater things to come.

He urged professionals and technocrats to support Madam Kunko with their vast expertise to enable her deliver to improve on the lives of the people.

Mr Evans Sinkare, Presiding Member appealed to the DCE to have a listening ear and forge unity of purpose.
