NDC cautioned not to be complacent

NDCFormer Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Philip Edward Kwabena Antwi, has urged his party to overcome complacency and get its act right before the next general polls.

It would be better for us to organize and begin our preparations now, he cautioned, when he spoke to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Kumasi.

This comes on the heels of the Supreme Court’s (SC) validation of the 2012 presidential poll results, bringing finality to eight months of legal wrangling.

Mr Antwi underlined the need for the government to also remain focused and work harder to meet the expectations of the people.

We need to do our best to pull the people along by ensuring that their felt needs are tackled with urgency.

He said having now drawn a line under the election petition, “it is important to bring all Ghanaians together to operate as one people with the common goal of moving the country forward”.

Mr Antwi described the SC’s ruling as refreshing and asked all to share in the joy of the moment – a significant milestone in the country’s democratic history.

He also praised Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo for the demonstration of political maturity.
