Police arrests 23-year-old driver with Indian hemp

The Techiman Police has arrested Prince Asare,  a 23-year-old driver for possessing some dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp at a police barrier on the Wench-Techiman road.

The suspect told the police that the 188 parcels were being conveyed from Badu in the Tain District of the Brong-Ahafo Region to Wiamoase in the Ashanti Region.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Appiah Kusi, Techiman Municipal Crime Officer, told newsmen that the police had a tip-off and intercepted the taxi at a barrier mounted at Derry Hotel.

He said the suspect told the police that the dried leaves belonged to one Atta.
