New Police post lacks basic logistics

policeA new Police Post at Apowa in the Ahanta West District is in need of basic logistics to operate effectively.

The Kwesiminstim District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent of Police Issah Ahmed Yakubu, told the Ghana News Agency in Takoradi that the police post lacks furniture and a cell.

He said the absence of these logistics was hindering the work of the police and therefore, appealed for assistance from the government and organisations in the Region.

He said there were enough police personnel at the post and assured of the Command’s readiness to deploy more personnel to the area when necessary, adding that the Police Post would be upgraded into a police station to serve the Apowa and Anaji communities.

The District Police Commander said the police post was constructed in the area to make the police more accessible to the residents, reduce crime and lessen the pressure on the Kwesiminstim Police Station.
