Driver remanded for road traffic offences

law-and-justiceA Magistrate’s court at Sekondi, on Tuesday remanded Isaac Baidoo, a driver, for taking passengers at an unauthorised place, road obstruction and driving without licence.
Baidoo’s plea was not taken and he would reappear before court on August 18.
Prosecuting, Chief Inspector of City Guards, Joseph Baidoo, told the court presided over by Mr. Kwame Polley that on May 30 this year, city guards from the Sekondi/Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly arrested Baidoo for taking passengers at an unauthorised place at Eno Junction, Kojokrom near Takoradi.
He said Baidoo, who was driving without licence, failed to appear before court when he was summoned, and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.
The suspect claimed he could not appear in court due to ill health.
