DCE for Saboba confirmed

The Saboba Assembly in the Northern Region on Tuesday confirmed Mr Ali Adolf, the President’s nominee for the position of District Chief Executive (DCE) of Saboba.

Mr Ali had  24 votes, representing 67 per cent out of the 36 total votes cast by the assembly members present.

The election was supervised by Mr Kinsley Larbi, Deputy Director of the Northern Regional Electoral Commission (EC), in Saboba .

This is the second time Mr Ali has secured the mandate as DCE for Saboba after serving a first four-year term from 2009 to 2013.

Mr Ali, who was declared winner by the EC, thanked the President for the confidence reposed in him to serve a second term, and gave the assurance that he would work harder to justify his re-nomination.

He promised to run an open door administration to increase the Internally Generated Fund (IGF) of the district and to improve the welfare of the people through the implementation of projects on agriculture, water and sanitation as well as education. .

“It will be very difficult for me to identify the people who voted in my favor and those who did not, so I assume that all the assembly members voted for me. Let us forget about the past and forge ahead as a united force to ensure development and peace”, Mr Ali said.

Mr Bede Ziedeng, Northern Regional Minister, appealed to the public, especially assembly members, to support the President to achieve the “Better Ghana Agenda”.

“Assembly members can only demonstrate their support by voting for the President’s nominees for the positions of Municipal, Metropolitan and District Chief Executive, but not rejecting nominees”, he said.
