Sunyani to host 2013 National Policy Fair

This year’s National Policy Fair is scheduled in Sunyani from August 21 to 24 at the Sunyani Polytechnic.

A statement issued by Mr Akwasi Amankwaa, Brong-Ahafo Regional Information Officer, and Chairman of the Publicity Sub-committee, copied to the Ghana News Agency in Sunyani on Thursday said each Municipal, and District Assembly was expected to contribute GH₡2,000 for efficient, effective and smooth organization of the fair.

It said the media launch would be held in Accra soon, for the four-day fair on the theme “Partnership and Innovation for Development” and the thematic area for the Region was “Promoting Agriculture and Rural Development”.

“The focus of the fair in the Region is on agriculture and rural development, in view of the description of the Brong Ahafo Region as “Food Basket of the country,” the statement added.

The statement said all the Municipal and District Assemblies (MDAs) in the Region would showcase their policies, programmes, plans, activities and infrastructural developments while some selected Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA’s) would also exhibit their products.

As part of the fair, dialogue session would be organized and topical issues on agriculture and rural development deliberated upon.
