Dr Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije, Accra Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), on Wednesday said by July next year passengers would enjoy an improved and stress free commercial transport system in the city.

He said Adenta-Accra and Amasaman-Accra are some of the major routes on which passengers should expect some significant improvement in services.

Dr Okoe Vanderpuije made this known when Mrs May Obiri Yeboah, Executive Director of the National Road Safety Commission (NRSC) paid a courtesy call on him in Accra.

He pledged his support towards the modernisation of various lorry terminals in the metropolis as well as the removal of all billboards that were not properly mounted.

Mrs Yeboah said she was pleased to be working with Dr Okoe Vanderpuije because he is dedicated to road safety issues and has pedestrian safety at heart, which is part of the goals of the NRSC.

NRSC presented road safety materials that would help to cut down on pedestrian accidents to the MCE.
