Supreme Court sets August 29 for Ghana election petition decision

Ghana’s Supreme Court will give its verdict on the election petition case before it August 29, 2013.

The court today August 7, 2013 heard final oral presentations from the parties involved in the case.

After today’s hearing, Presiding Judge of the nine-member panel, Justice William Atuguba adjourned the case to August 14, 2013 after which the verdict on the case will be given 15 days after.

The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by Nana Akufo-Addo is asking the court to annul the results of the 2012 December polls that declared President John Mahama the winner.
