The “trial of comrade Atta,” has sparked public interest in the theatre arts in Ho.

The tragi-comedy, though staged for the fourth time, by Ho-based Chaufra Theatre Players continued to pull hundreds of people to the Ho Polytechnic Auditorium which was jam-packed at the weekend.

It was a moment of grief and laughter as the ‘Late President’ was tried on his personal, political, moral and academic life by witches in the “netherworld”.

While the living got ready for a special memorial burial for the late President, termites also prepared to feast on his mortal remains, forcing tears down the face of some of the audience in the auditorium.

Late President Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the defence counsel for Late President John Atta Mills, argued that his client did his best for the country and must be left to rest.

The entertaining two-hour play, written by Dzidudu Darkey-Mensah and directed by Jude Kubiti attracted politicians, religious leaders and heads of private and public institutions among others.
