Ghanaian weightlifters to start camping for African championship

The National Weightlifting team will on Tuesday, August 6, commence camping ahead of the 2013 African Championship in Nigeria, next month.

A statement from the Ghana Weightlifting Association (GWA) said eight weightlifters would camp at the Winneba Sports College under the technical guidance of Coach Majeti Fetrie.

Five weightlifters will start the camping on August 6, with three from the Security Services joining later.

The team will travel to Togo later in the month to round up preparations before moving to Nigeria for the continental event.

Invited lifters are Albert Abotsi, Prince Nyarko, Seth Fetri, Nii Darko Doodo, Daniel Darko, Alberta Ampomah, Ruth Baffoe and Juliana Arku from the Security Services.
