NCCE Deputy Chairman passes away

The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) on Wednesday announced the death of Mr Baron Yaw Amoafo at the Korle–Bu Teaching Hospital.

Mr Amoafo died on 20th June, 2013 after short illness, a statement signed by Mrs Joyce Afutu, Director of Communication and Corporate Affairs to the Ghana News Agency said.

Until his death, Mr Amoafo was the Deputy Chairman (Support Services) at the Commission.

The statement said funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Mr Amoafo was called to the Ghanaian Bar in 1987, went into private legal practice. Prior to joining the Commission in 2006 he was a teacher and taught at various schools in the Eastern Region, rising to the rank of Superintendent in the Ghana Education Service.
