She said the Ministry was lobbying to ensure that more women were appointed as District Chief Executives, to give more women the opportunity to participate in the governance of this country.

She said education was a paramount tool for positive change and note that “education changes everything”.

Mrs Dickson observed that Africa has a large population of youth that needed to take advantage of education and develop their talents.

Alhaji A.B.A. Fuseini, Deputy Northern Regional Minister, urged the youth to develop pursue education for progress despite the historical educational and developmental imbalances created by the colonial administration.

He noted that NGOs had played immeasurable role in the education of some youth in the northern parts of the country, and said “you have been entrusted with a huge responsibility and you dare not fail”.
