Man jailed nine years for stealing CDs
A Kumasi Circuit Court presided over by Mr Justice William Boampong has sentenced a coconut seller to nine years imprisonment for stealing 1,800 compact discs (CDs) valued at GH¢1,800.00.
Kwasi Gyamfi pleaded guilty to the offence.
Police Inspector Gulliver Tenkorang told the court that the crime was committed on April 17 of this year.
The complainant, Isaac Ezeh, a CD seller at the Kejetia Terminal, had packed his wares after the close of business and had left them in the care of a security man at the “All Friends FM Radio Station” located right inside the terminal.
He returned the next morning only to find that the CDs had been stolen and based upon a tip off by a taxi driver and a witness in the case, the CD’s were traced to the house of Gyamfi.
He was arrested and the stolen items recovered during a search of his room by the police.
