Ghana drawn in tough group for African Beach Soccer Championship

Venice BeachGhana has drawn against South Africa and Libya for the 2013 African Beach Soccer Championship scheduled for next week in Morocco.

The debutants are paired in Group B at the draw conducted at the weekend for the nine-team tourney fixed for 22-26 May in the  port city of El Jadida.

According to the draw, the Ghanaian team will launch their campaign against South Africa on May 22, at the Mazagan Beach Resort before squaring Libya two days later at the same venue.

Both South Africa and Libya have had previous experiences at the continental championship.

Group A has defending champions Cote d’Ivoire, Algeria and Madagascar whilst hosts Morocco, Nigeria and Egypt are in Group C.

The group winners and the best runner-up will qualify to the last four, where as the finalists will represent Africa at the global championship in Tahiti in September.
