Mahama meets Jeff Sachs, ex-Nigerian military leader

President John Dramani Mahama on Friday held closed door meeting with General Yakubu Gowon (Rtd) former Military Leader of Nigeria and Professor Jeffrey Sachs, of the Earth Institute.

The meeting was to adopt common modalities to fight against the menace of money laundering in the sub-region.

General Gowon is in Accra to take part in the meetings of the 12th Ministerial Committee of the Inter-Governmental Action Group Against Money Laundering in West Africa (GIABA).

A statement issued in Accra form the presidency and copied to the Ghana News Agency said officials of GIABA and the Director General of Ghana’s Financial Intelligence Centre participated in the meeting.
