Ashaiman’s Sana Radio burnt, foul play suspected

FireSana Radio, an Ashaiman based station, was on Friday afternoon gutted by fire.

Mr Samuel McCarthy, a staff of the station, told the GNA that the fire started at about 1530 hours and the Ghana National Fire Service got to the scene after 16 hours.

He said had the Fire Service arrived in time they could have being in a position to salvage the situation.

Mr McCarthy said the fire started from the main studio and spread to other offices, destroying all equipment including the transmitter, computers and other items.

He said though the cause of the fire was not known, he suspects no foul play and the facts would be established after investigations

The premises of the Radio Station are located in the second floor of the Sana Radio Building near the Ashaiman main lorry station.
