Tema Dev’t Corporation pays outstanding dividend to government

cediThe Tema Development Corporation (TDC) has presented a cheque of  GH¢100,000 to the Government through the Ministry of Water Resources, Works and Housing.

A statement signed by the Public Relations officer of the Ministry, Mr. Abraham Otabil, said the amount represented part payment of outstanding dividend due the Government.

It said the TDC Board chairman, Mr. Emmanuel Oko Adjetey, had presented the cheque to the sector Minister, and it was witnessed by Mr Joe Abby, Managing Director of the corporation.

The statement cited the sector Minister, Alhaji Collins Dauda, as saying that ‘’efforts are been made to amend the Legislative Instrument establishing the company to enable TDC to operate beyond its current boundary, which is mainly within the Tema Metropolis’’.

It said Alhaji Dauda commended the TDC, which is an agency of the Ministry, for its efforts in supporting the Ministry in reducing the housing deficit, which currently stands at 1.7 million in excess.

The statement said Alhaji Dauda pledged the Ministry’s support to the TDC, and said the dividend would be forwarded to the Ministry of Finance.
