US investors tout Ghana as beacon of hope for Africa

Ghana flagsUnited States investors has touted Ghana as the beacon of hope for Africa in the field of democracy, peace, stability and socio-economic development.

The investors expressed the desire to invest in the economy, Sheik Mustapha Ibrahim, Special Adviser to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr Osman Nuhu Sharabutu, told newsmen on Monday.

Sheik Ibrahim was part of a Muslim delegation led by Sheikh Nuhu Sharabutu from the United States.

The delegation held discussion with US State Department Officials, potential investors and the Ghanaian Muslim community.

The visit was facilitated by Yankasa Association; a US- based Ghanaian Muslim Organisation, which aims at promoting Islamic and religious education in the world.

Sheikh Ibrahim said the Chief Imam also held discussion with Mr Rashad Husein, President Obama’s Special Adviser on Islamic Affairs and other Senior policy makers at the US State Department.

The meeting discussed the promotion of inter-religious dialogue, peace,  infrastructural development and strengthening of bilateral relations.

On the side lines of the meetings, Sheikh Ibrahim who is also the Chairman of the Islamic Council for Development and Humanitarian Services said the Chief Imam engaged investors in the Energy, Housing and Oil Exploration sector.

Sheikh Ibrahim said the US State Officials thanked Sheikh Sharabutu for his efforts and commitment towards promoting peace, unity and development among religious bodies in Ghana and the world at large and asked him not to  relent on his efforts.
