Herds of cattle take over Offinso streets

CattleHerds of cattle left roaming in the streets of Offinso are causing nuisance, which has become a source of discomfort and threat to the safety of residents.

The animals block the flow of vehicular traffic and also daily leave on the streets tons of excreta. The animals have also destroyed backyard gardens and school farms.

Mr Solomon Afriyie, a retired educationist, has therefore called for the Municipal authorities to act decisively and with urgency to bring the cattle owners to order.

He said the situation where animals at times invaded school premises gave cause for concern and must not be allowed to continue.

“We cannot wait until something tragic happens before we act,” he said, and warned that continued inaction by the authorities could force the residents to take the law into their own hands.
