Ghana Premier League: Ashgold beats Hearts at Obuasi

footballAshGold beat Hearts of Oak 2-1 in an uncompromising 21st week Glo Premier League encounter played at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium on Sunday.

AshGold went straight into attack right from kick-off, harassing the visitors’ defence for an early goal which came through a penalty after Nuhu Sulley handled the ball in the fourth minute.

Yakubu Mohammed had an easy task to beat goalkeeper Tetteh Luggard for the opener that set the stadium agog.

Hearts reacted well and began attacking in burst to level up in the 19th minute when Mathama Otoo connected home Owusu Bembah’s cross.

From recess, AshGold doubled the lead with Alhaji Sanne getting to the end of a set up from Mohammed to put the homers back infront.

Hearts fought to pull parity but Fatau Dauda and his men at the defence proved  unyielding.
