Mr Paul Evans Aidoo, Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister has hinted that the ministerial reshuffle which brought him from Western to Brong-Ahafo Region is expected to affect Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs).

But the Regional Minister, who is the Member of Parliament for Sefwi Wiawso however explained that the presidential reshuffling of the MMDCEs would be carried within and not outside the regions.

Mr Aidoo gave the hint when Mr Eric Opoku, former Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister who is now the Ashanti Regional Minister handed-over official document to him at a short ceremony at the residency in Sunyani.

He explained that the MMDCEs would be reassigned to work in various Districts and Municipalities within a particular region saying that “there was no way that a Chief Executive in the Western would be reassigned to work in Brong-Ahafo Region.”

Rather, Mr Aidoo said a DCE in the Western could be changed to work in any District or Municipality Region.

He pleaded, especially to the traditional rulers and assembly members, to cooperate with any Chief Executive who might be affected and sent to their areas.

Mr Opoku on his part appealed to the traditional authorities, the media and heads of departments to support the new Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister to facilitate the speedy development of the region.
