Heavy rainstorm hits Atwima-Mponua destroying properties

FloodingA heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds has hit Atwima-Mponua District, leaving in its trail massive destruction of property in a number of communities.

Among the communities badly affected by the rainstorm are Betinko, Anyimamso, Mpasatia, Bedaabour, Nyinawonsu, Kwame-Dwaa and Otaakrom.

The roofs of buildings including schools were ripped off, displacing some families. However no injuries or deaths had been recorded.

The District Chief Executive (DCE), Madam Theresa Adomako Tawiah, and officials of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) toured the communities to assess the extent of the havoc and the immediate relief measures to be put in place.
