Deputy EC Chairman, Kantanka retires

Mr Safo Kantanka, a deputy Chairman of the Electoral Commission has retired, the government has announced.

Mr Kantanka on April 9, 2013 paid a farewell visit to President John Mahama to inform him of his retirement from the Commission, according to a statement from the Information Ministry.

President Mahama thanked him, on behalf of the people of Ghana, for his sterling service to the nation.

“When the history of Ghana is written, it’ll reflect you, Kanga and Afari Gyan in a pride of place”, President Mahama was quoted as saying.

Mr. Kantanka thanked the President for the support, noting that the Electoral Commission has laid a solid foundation that can only be built suspended.
