The British High Commission in Accra, Ghana today April 10, 2013 opened a book of condolence for the former British Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher who died April 8, 2013 at the age of 87.

According to the High Commission, the book has been opened at its offices in Osu, Abdul Nasser Avenue from 9.00-13.00 each day.

The British High Commissioner, Peter Jones described the former Prime Minister as “a remarkable figure in British history.”

Madam Thatcher was British Prime Minister from 1979 to 1990, the first woman to hold the position.

Her funeral service will take place at the St Paul’s Cathedral on April 17, 2013 and the Queen of England accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh are expected to attend.
