Asante Kotoko counts on home support to beat JSM Bejaia

CrowdAsante Kotoko  are counting heavily on the support of their followers as they ready to welcome their Algerian counterparts, JSM Bejaia, in a CAF Champions League encounter at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday.

Dr. Kofi Kodua Sarpong, the Executive Board Chairman, has underscored the importance of home support; calling on the club’s followers to throng the arena to aid the Porcupine Warriors to victory.

About 40,000 supporters are expected to fill the 44,000 capacity space for the game Kotoko must win to progress after holding Bejaia to goalless in the first leg in Algeria last month.

Dr. Sarpong told GNA Sports in Kumasi on Friday, the club was content with what he described as a favourable first leg result in Algeria and said measures have been in place to ensure Kotoko prevailed on Sunday.

The Porcupine Warriors have struggled without success to annex the prestigious continental trophy they last won in 1983.
