Churches asked to mend cracks in society

market1Pastor Professor Seth Laryea, former President of the Valley View University, has called on the church to mend cracks and promote harmony among people .

He asked the church to use its influence to help people to smooth over their differences and to be at peace with each other.

Pastor Prof. Laryea made the remark at a ceremony held to climax the silver jubilee celebration of the Yennyawoso-Anyarno Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Church in Kumasi.

He condemned the lust for wealth, resulting in corruption and immorality, and called on Christians to soberly reflect on God’s real “purpose for man”.

Pastor Prof. Laryea asked Christians to use Easter to strengthen “our resolve and thoughts to do good always”.

He appealed to Christians to denounce evil and uphold decency, honesty and transparency and  said the resurrection of Jesus Christ continues to be humanity’s victory over adversity and oppression and testimony of new life of hope.

The Yennyawoso SDA Church established in August1988, with 33 members now has a population of 780 and operates a basic school – Kindergarten, Primary school and Junior High School.
