Ghanaians called upon to fight corruption

corruptionThe Reverend Elvis Kwadwo Sarpong, Old Tafo District Pastor of the Assemblies of God Church, has called on all Ghanaians to act together to fight corruption and other negative practices that tend to hold back the nation’s development.

“It should not be business as usual” and that it was time all shared in the responsibility of correcting the wrongs and injustices in the society, he said.

He said it required the collective efforts of the people to bring development and therefore asked that the blame game stopped.

The Rev Sarpong was delivering the sermon to climax a three-day Easter convention of the church at Old Tafo in Kumasi.

The event attracted members of the church from Maakro, Pankrono, Kronum and Bremang and was held under the theme “God’s gift of love to mankind and humanity”.

He rallied them to be confident about the future saying the death and resurrection of Christ should give all hope of better times ahead.

The District Pastor entreated them to renew their faith and commitment to God and to worship him in truth.

At another Easter service held at the Bantama Peyer Memorial Presbyterian Church in Kumasi, the Rev Alexander Adu-Sekyere, the Minister in-charge, reminded Christians to provide the needed leadership to influence change in the society and make things better.

They should epitomize the sublime qualities of integrity, transparency, modesty, humility and self-denial.

“Christ has risen”, was the theme he chose for his sermon.

Rev Adu-Sekyere said as Christians they were also enjoined to show love, care and affection for the poor and the vulnerable.

He advised them to promote inter-religious harmony to enhance peace in the country.

ALL START WITH CURRENT ADMINISTRATION LEADERS AND CHIEFS IN THE COUNTRY AT ALL LEVELS. DEVELOPED OVERSEAS COUNTRIES THINK ABOUT LEGACY WITH VISION FOR CURRENT AND FUTURE GENERATION WHERE AS GHANA, AFRICA LAGGING BEHIND. CORRUPTION IS CANKER THAT NEED TO BE ERADICATED BY FORCE IN BLACK GHANA, AFRICA GENE. SAD TO SEE WITH HUGE RESOURCES GHANA AND AFRICA CONTINUE TO FALL BELOW POVERTY LINE. FIND COUNTRIES WHO DON’T HAVE QUATER OR NON RESOURCES DO EVEN BETTER THAN GHANA AS WELL AS ABOVE, BEYONG ECONOMIC SUCCESS. IF IT TAKES 7YRS FOR SITTING GOVERNMENT TO DECIDE A PROJECT WHICH WAS INITIATED BY PREVIOUS GOVERNMENT IT SAD SAD.
