Ghana’s Black Satellites boosted their chances at the ongoing 2013 African Youth Championship with a lone goal victory over Benin on Tuesday at Aïn Temouchent.

Striker Ebenezer Assifuah scored the only goal of the game on 56 minutes to hand the Satellites their first win of the campaign.

The Ghanaians delivered an improved performance of their opening 1-2 loss to Egypt to wrestle the maximum points at the expense of their West African counterparts. It was Assifuah’s second of the tournament.

The Satellites now have three points, same as leaders Egypt who later play hosts Algeria in the other Group A game also in Aïn Temouchent.
